According to Deadline, the two-season renewal reflects the strength of The Equalizer‘s rating performance — it is Sunday’s #1 scripted series, averaging 9.46 million viewers. Season to date, the show has amassed 1.2 billion potential social media impressions, according to CBS. In anticipation of a pickup, The Equalizer recently set new showrunners, Joseph C. Wilson and Adam Glass, who will succeed at the helm of the series’ developers, Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller.

In the episode, the viewers got to see that, in order to get access to the classified records on Omar Delgado, a close ally of Mason Quinn, McCall infiltrates the Cuban embassy. When she shares the information with Harry and Mel, they are hesitant to help her because of the connection to Bishop’s passing. Instead, McCall enlists Carter Griffin’s assistance, who is able to locate Delgado and organize an arresting task team.

After interviewing him, he and his crew come up empty-handed, and McCall makes an attempt. In an effort to win his trust, they orchestrate his escape. Vera, a friend of Delilah’s, begins running for student president, but her ex-boyfriend Logan Jeffries leaks a picture of her online. Delilah turns to Dante when she runs out of options to help Vera, and Dante then introduces her to “The Equalizer,” who is actually her mother. Harry and Mel are introduced to her by McCall, who also promises her that she can seek their assistance.

When Harry finds his match with a Russian IP address, he finds it difficult to remove Vera’s image from pornographic websites. Despite some resistance, he eventually overcomes them and removes the images of Vera and the other victims. Vera sends Delilah a troubling text that makes suicide seem like a possibility. When Delilah and Mel arrive at her location, the former is able to reason with her. After learning about Logan’s burner phone, Dante and the NYPD detain him. McCall’s car is struck by another vehicle while it is being driven home.

While Delilah and Aunt Vi watch in shock as they are taken away, the attackers kidnap the victim. The Equalizer Season 3 is expected to reveal where the overall plot of the series is going in terms of characters and storylines from this precise moment of the finale episode.
