Released its second part on March 10, 2023, The Glory is a Netflix Original South Korean revenge-drama series, written by the Descendents of the Sun writer, Kim Eun Sook. This revenge drama revolves around Moon Dong Eun who is daydreaming of becoming an architect in her high-school days.
Unfortunately, owing to a brutal attack by her bullies, Moon Dong Eun drops out of her school. This background sets the context of the movie, where years later, Moon Gong Eun is working in the same school where the child of her bully is now the homeroom teacher. This lays the foundation for Moon Dong Eun to plan and plot her revenge against her former bullies.
Ever since The Glory Part 2 dropped on Netflix, it has left the fans of the show teetering on the edge of their seats, anticipating for the show to get a third season renewal. But, will Netflix renew the show for a third season?
Here’s everything we know about The Glory season 3.
When can we expect The Glory season 3 to arrive on Netflix?
At the time of writing this article, Netflix has not renewed the show for a third season. Therefore, it is difficult to presume the release schedule of the show. However, the first two parts or seasons of the show arrived within three months. However, that was only possible because they were filmed together in one go. Since there is a paucity of confirmation of a third season/part, the fans might have to wait for a while before it arrives on the streaming giant. That is to say, of course, if there will be a third season.
Who are the cast members of The Glory season 3?
Although we don’t have much information about The Glory season 3, we expect the following members to reprise their respective roles, even if their characters have died already. You never know what can happen in K-drama.
- Song Hye-kyo as Dong-eun
- Lim Ji-yeon as Yeon-jin
- Kim Hieora as Sa-ra
- Jung Sung-il as Do-yeong
- Cha Joo-young as Hye-jeong
- Lee Do-hyun as Ju Yeo-jeong
- Park Sung-hoon as Jeon Jae-jun
- Kang Hyeon-nam as Yeom Hye-ran
In conversation with Elle Korea, Song Hye-kyo expressed her emotions about her role in The Glory, saying, “I started to find acting fun again through The Glory,” Song Hye-kyo. I was really happy in bed at the end of the day after I finished filming a really difficult scene. I wanted to return to filming the next day and I couldn’t wait until I was Moon Dong-eun again.”
What can we expect to happen in The Glory part 3?
The potential third season/part will certainly pick up from where its predecessor left off. However, we don’t have enough concrete details to map out the story arc that it will presumably follow. But, DigitalSpy has its own contentions:
“Now that part two is over and done with, the question is whether we’re going to end up with a third season, and perhaps more crucially, do we even need a third season? Or should the story end right here and now?
At a global GV event ahead of season two, director Ahn Gil Ho told audiences that episode 16, part two’s finale, is “the most interesting” episode of them all promising fans a perfect ending for the show.
Now, that sure does sound definitive, but given The Glory‘s huge international success, we reckon a spinoff or perhaps even a prequel series could be on the cards one day. For example, there’s still plenty we don’t know about Moon Dong-eun’s life at school before the attack, although it might be a tad masochistic to return to this period again by this point.
There’s no official news on any of us this yet, unfortunately, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned from Dong-eun, it’s patience.”
