The overall reception of the series 

The series achieved a perfect score of 100% with 5 critic ratings and a 71% audience score with 17 reviews.

Jessica Curney of The Michigan Daily argued that the show “doesn’t miss a beat” but that those used to the original show may take time to get used to the series due to changes in story art and tone. Even so, it is argued that the show is still wholesome while catering to modern sensibilities, teaching life lessons to viewers, especially the younger generation of viewers.

According to IMDb, the series received a score of 5.7 out of 10 with 842 votes. 

Leigh Ann Jackson of the New York Times argued that the series revived a “beloved animated series” for a new generation, updating the themes from the original to trends of the 2020s.
