The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: When is it expected to premiere?

The much anticipated second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty will certainly return to your television screens sometime in the summer of 2023, just like the prior season, at the same time slot of 7 p.m. (ET) and 4 p.m. (PT), considering the last season of this beloved show also came out in the same time frame, which is June 17, 2022.

So, it makes an ideal way to start the summer season with a bang that blends perfectly with the theme of the show and leads to an annual summer vacation to their family friends’ beach house!

In addition to this, the official Twitter handle of Prime Video also confirmed the news among their followers by sharing a brand new poster that features the beloved star cast on a summer vacation as they continue their coming-of-age journeys for another season, quoting, “Happy Summer Friday.” Take a look at the official post below:

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: What to expect in the second installment?

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a multigenerational drama that hinges on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers, the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendship. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer. The second season is expected to take inspiration from the second book titled, “It’s Not Summer Without You,” which was released in 2010.

If you have read the novel trilogy, then you’ll know that the book shows Belly finding out what comes after falling in love in this follow-up to The Summer I Turned Pretty from the New York Times bestselling author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Jenny Han. Can summer truly be summer without Cousins Beach? It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah.

But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started – at Cousins Beach.

In addition to this, the author (Jenny Han) of the book series, stated,  “When I decided to adapt Summer for television, I knew we’d need more than one season to honor the story we are telling.” Further adding, “To receive a second season pickup ahead of the premiere of Season One is beyond my wildest dreams. I am so grateful to Amazon Studios for this amazing vote of confidence in our show, and cannot wait to bring our incredible team back together to tell the next chapter in our story.”

The main cast members who will return are as follows Lola Tung as Isabel “Belly” Conklin, Rachel Blanchard as Susannah Fisher, Jackie Chung as Laurel Park, Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher, Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah Fisher, Sean Kaufman as Steven Conklin, and Alfredo Narciso as Cleveland Castillo. The recurring cast members also include David Iacono as Cam, Rain Spencer as Taylor, Summer Madison as Nicole Richardson, Kyra Sedgwick as a to-be-confirmed character, and Elsie Fisher as Skye.

The details regarding their characters are under wraps and will be disclosed later. Additionally, Season Two of The Summer I Turned Pretty is led by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka. Han, Kucserka, Karen Rosenfelt, and Gabrielle Stanton serve as executive producers, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Paul Lee for wiip.
