When will the long-awaited fifth season premiere on Netflix? Here is everything we know about Virgin River Season 5.

It’s been months since the series was renewed for a fifth season in September 2021, and fans are getting impatient as more days pass, which is not a shock as we’re already three months into the new year with no update or information on whether or not the highly anticipated fifth season will return this year or not!

To summarise, it appears that Netflix is not in a hurry to premiere the show anytime soon. According to recent reports, Virgin River Season 5 filming officially wrapped on November 22, 2022, and if you look at the pattern of the previous two seasons of this beloved romantic drama, the episodes have dropped during the summer season, with July being the most likely timeframe.

Hence, this confirms and suggests that the show is still a long way from premiering new episodes in March 2023!

On the other hand, the cast has begun to drop hints on social media about a possible release date. If you’ve been following Twitter fan pages, you’ll know that they share all of the most recent updates with their followers. A widely shared video of Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson answering fan questions and predicting that the show would most likely return in July 2023 went viral.

In this case, both of the series’ main leads have come forward to shed light on the subject, making this detail quite accurate. On the other hand, because the network hasn’t confirmed anything, there’s still plenty of time for such details to be revealed. For the time being, fans will have to wait for Netflix to start marketing before these rambling details become official and kick off the summer streaming season with a big bang!

Virgin River Season 5: What can the fans expect in the new season?

Right now not much has been revealed about the new season, but speaking to Glamour Magazine, Smith teased the upcoming fifth season, quoting, “We get into things that will be new and exciting, but still very much feel like the same show, but are definitely taking a more exciting approach to some of the stories. A little bit louder, but not to the detriment of the comfort of the show. I want it to feel like season five will be next-level.”

Alexandra Breckenridge also teased some of the plot points regarding season 5, “I think this season has started out well and we’re getting into a few episodes soon that are pretty heavy. They’re really intense and I think that they’re some of the best episodes we’ve ever done. I never say that either! I think that there’s a high sense of drama that starts to come up this season that it’s going to leave people on the edge of their seats. At least, I hope. I’m excited to get into that.”
