Virgin River Season 5: Meet the other cast members
We’ve put down the character descriptions below for the major cast members of the upcoming season, who are anticipated to reprise their roles from the fourth season:
Alexandra Breckinridge as Mel Monroe: Mel is preparing to have a baby with Jack but doesn’t know that he’s the father for sure when it could also be her late husband, Mark. At work, Doc introduces new hire, Dr. Cameron Hayek, who takes an interest in Mel.
Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan: After making a full recovery, Jack has an inkling Brady wasn’t the one who shot him. Now back with Mel, he worries about her high-risk pregnancy and whether he or Mel’s late husband, Mark, is the father. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, his ex Charmaine has news of her own to share.
Tim Matheson as Doc Mullins: Doc has been by Hope’s side since the car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury, but he struggles with how to help her when her memory fails her. Doc is left speechless when a young man shows up at his door, claiming to be his grandson.
Annette O’Toole as Hope: Recovering from the car accident, Hope is on the mend and still trying to piece together her memories of what happened. She’s forgotten about her longtime friend Lily’s death but must again cope with reality.
Zibby Allen as Brie Sheridan: Jack’s sister, Brie, is offered a job in the Virgin River but is not sure she wants to stay in town. With Brady in prison on charges of shooting her brother, Jack, Brie attempts to shake off their relationship despite his attempts to contact her.
Benjamin Hollingsworth as Brady: Now in prison after allegedly shooting Jack, Brady tries to keep in contact with Brie, who is no longer taking his calls. While inside, Brady is threatened by Jimmy and his crew, who blame him for messing up the raid and not taking out Spencer when he had the chance.
Colin Lawrence as Preacher: Preacher works as Jack’s partner at the bar, where he offers compelling evidence that leads Jack to realize Brady may not have been the one who shot him after all. With Paige still on the run, Preacher does his best to parent Christopher.
Virgin River Season 5: The showrunner hints at the plot of the new season
According to the new showrunner and some new characters at play, there will be major shakeups in Virgin River Season 5. Diversity and inclusion will be major focal points this season. “I’m hoping that in the future, we can bring more conversations to the table,” Breckenridge told Glamour. “In season five, we’re bringing some more LGBTQ+ stories into the show, which I think is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been fighting for diversity on the show since we started, and I think we’ve been slowly moving toward a lot of that. Certainly with our new showrunner and directors. Netflix is really trying to bring more inclusivity into programming.”
