Will Virgin River Season 5 premiere in a few months on Netflix? Here is everything we know so far.
Unfortunately, the release date of Virgin River Season 5 is currently unknown, but that is probably because the production of the new season has just concluded. The filming for the fifth season began on July 18 and concluded on November 21, 2022. So, it is evident that it will take time to complete the post-production editing and deliver the best content for the fans to the network before releasing the official premiere announcement to the beloved fandom. Now, the official Instagram handle of the show has also shared a major update on the upcoming season by posting a newly released BTS clip from the set of the fifth season among its followers, quoting, “That’s a WRAP on Season 5!” Take a look at the official post below:

Taking this into account, the next season is expected to be released in the summer of 2023. It’s worth noting that an earlier release date of late May or July 2023 was speculated, which remains the best guess for a Netflix premiere at the same time as other shows on the streaming service, which is 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET). This will be confirmed once the promotion of the series begins once again. We would like to highlight that this is just speculation, considering if the network decides to stick with the same schedule, the next season may follow the same pattern and be released in a similar time frame. Until then, the fans should keep an eye on the show’s social media handles for any new updates.
Virgin River Season 5: What to expect in the new season?
There is no specific plot details have been given away, but new showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealed to TVLine that, “Season 5 picks up right after Season 4. There’s no time jump between four and five.” He also hinted that we may or may not get to find out who the father of Charmaine’s twins are in season 5 as he doesn’t want to waste the huge cliffhanger. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “In season 5, it’s such a great mystery. That’s what was so interesting when I watched it, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it.’
“I’m hoping that in the future, we can bring more conversations to the table,” Breckenridge told Glamour. “In season five, we’re bringing some more LGBTQ+ stories into the show, which I think is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been fighting for diversity on the show since we started, and I think we’ve been slowly moving toward a lot of that. Certainly with our new showrunner and directors. Netflix is really trying to bring more inclusivity into programming.”
Actress, Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Melinda “Mel” Monroe, discussed how she believes this turn of events would affect Jack’s Season 5 plot. She stated to TV Line, “Being betrayed on such a massive scale has to come with anger and hurt. He invested himself emotionally and mentally and financially in having these babies. He was really committed. It’s going to be hard, I think, for Jack to let that go.”
