YG Entertainment, the agency responsible for managing the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, has officially responded to the rumors surrounding Lisa’s contract status. In a statement provided to TV Report, the agency clarified that discussions regarding the MONEY singer’s contract renewal are still in progress.
Moreover, no official confirmation has been made to substantiate the rumors that have been circulating as of now. Reports had previously also suggested that the BLACKPINK member had declined a staggering $40 million USD contract offer from the agency. Moreover, there were claims of substantial offers from overseas labels, particularly from Thailand. However, both Lisa as well as YG Entertainment had previously refrained from commenting on these reports.
Ongoing Negotiations and Contract Expiry
It’s worth noting that negotiations between Lisa and YG Entertainment were reported to be facing significant challenges as of July 2023. Given that BLACKPINK made their debut in 2016, their contracts are set to expire this year. Nevertheless, the agency has not yet officially confirmed any contract renewals for the group’s members.
