You might probably be aware that the wait for part 2 won’t be interminable as it was for the fourth season altogether. With a month in our hands to understand and expect Joe’s next move, this article is all about what you can expect to happen in the second part of the fourth season of You

Based on the books written by Caroline Kepnes, You has become one of the most critically acclaimed thrillers, with its popularity skyrocketing with the release of every new season. Originally, the show was streaming on Lifetime before Netflix licensed it and made it an Original. Developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, the series stars Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, who has stalked his favourite women in the world’s most attractive places, including New York, Los Angeles, fictional Madre Linda, and now, Paris.

When will You season 4 part 2 premiere on Netflix?

What Penn Badgley has to say about his role in You Season 4?

As mentioned previously, You season 4 is slated to arrive on the official streaming platform in two parts. The first part came out on February 9th, while the second is confirmed to arrive a month later on Thursday, March 9. Make sure you’ve marked your calendars!

What to expect from You season 4 part 2?

Here’s the official plotline of You Season 4 (courtesy of Netflix):

“After his previous life went up in flames, Joe Goldberg has fled to Europe to escape his “messy” past, adopt a new identity, and, of course, to pursue true love. But Joe soon finds himself in the strange new role of reluctant detective as he discovers he may not be the only killer in London. Now, his future depends on identifying and stopping whoever’s targeting his new friend group of uber-wealthy socialites…”

With Joe and Love’s relationship arresting at an aggressive stop, Joe is moving to yet another continent, this time Paris, to mull over his latest obsession, Marianne. However, it’s not just the character Joe who is donning a new profession. You season 4 will be Penn Badgley’s directorial debut.

In a conversation with GQIndia, Gamble said, “Reading Caroline’s novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted worldview. And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons.”

With Joe and Kate on the frontline, the burning question brewing inside the fans, is will Joe and Kate have a happy ending? Or more importantly, will Kate be alive by the end of the second part? Although he is catching himself falling in love with Kate, he is trying all his might to prevent this situation from catapulting further. But, we’re talking about Joe here. He will ultimately give in to his feelings.

Their situation was even more exacerbated when Joe realized that Kate is an heiress. Here we get a sneak peek into Kate’s past. Owing to her discontentment with her father’s business and the way he extolled money, she chose to cut ties with him. On a more prudent front, Joe’s and Kate’s relationship is the more convenient, because it will secure the former’s future and cover up all his crimes.

Finding himself in the elite social circle of published authors, heiresses, socialites, and eminent personalities, Joe is fated to be tied with them, either criminally or physically. However, one of the most interesting relationships that have sparked in the first part is between Rhys and Joe, when the former saved the latter’s ass when Roald was hunting him. When Rhys locked Joe and the unconscious Roald in a cellar, the audience watched the most shocking observation: Rhys being Joe’s stalker and the serial killer.

With Joe’s burning desire to get revenge against Rhys, he finds himself conflicted as the latter’s wealth, eminence, connections, and public persona keeps him in the spotlight. This could also mean that Joe’s ambition to catapult Rhys may backfire and what if, his past crimes finally catch up with him because of this?
