Fans of the series You must be delighted as the show has finally returned with season 4 after a long hiatus. Part 1 of You season 4 has released on Thursday, February 9, 2023, on Netflix and the second part of the latest season will be premiering on the streaming giant exactly a month later on March 9, 2023.
The new season sees the action moving across the pond where Joe has now taken up the identity of a college professor named Jonathan Moore.
Well, we don’t really want to give out spoilers, especially for those still going through the new episodes of the series, but what we can say is that the new season does shake things up a bit with Joe becoming the one being watched and terrorized this time around. The latest season also sees the entry of the Eat the Rich Killer, who has begun killing London’s most elite figures and has entered a game of cat and mouse with Joe.
The psychological thriller’s season 4 part 1 has indeed left the audience with a lot to watch and process and we understand that you must be eager to know what’s next for the popular murderer. All of this is sure to leave the fans wanting more.
Many of you may already be anticipating season 5 of You, and why not, that’s how much the series is loved after all. But as we had already informed you earlier this is not the end of season 4 and the series will be returning with a newer episode in You season 4 part 2 in March. Till its third season, Netflix had released all seasons of You in their entirety, allowing viewers to binge-watch the full seasons upon their launch, but this around the streaming service changed its release strategy with the You season 4.
Rather than releasing the full season at once, Netflix is splitting the season into two parts, each consisting of five episodes total, thereby holding the audience’s excitement and anticipation.
Now the question that arises is what will happen to You beyond season 4? Read on to know what we could gather so far.
Are we getting You season 5?
Till the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from Netflix regarding the renewal of You season 5 and whether the fifth season is happening or not. However, according to what we understand the odds do seem to be in favor of the show and no end game has been charted just yet.
Why we can still hope to get You season 5?
While some creative teams of the show will map out a timeline of the series by chalking out a plan to tell the story across a specific number of seasons, showrunner and co-creator of You, Sera Gamble had earlier hinted that there has never been any such specific plan in place.
Gamble, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2019, had spoken about the show’s future back then. She had said that they could “definitely follow Joe for several more seasons.” But since no specific season count was referenced, it seems that the creative team doesn’t yet have the show’s finale which is certain to delight the fans.
Given the success that You has achieved across its seasons so far, had season 4 been envisioned as the show’s last, it seems safe to assume that Netflix would have certainly brought that news during its promotion of the latest season? On the contrary, there has not been any update regarding the show’s end which does give us hope for getting to see You season 5.
Now since the fourth season of the series is split into two parts, we may not learn anything about the show’s future until sometime after part 2 releases in March. However, as fans of the series, there’s no reason to not expect another season of the psychological thriller being ordered by Netflix.

Originally, the show was streaming on Lifetime before Netflix licensed it and made it an Original.
