What are we made up of, if not love and atoms? The human core is based on the emotion of love and the feelings which surround it. Every bond is beautiful in its own way, and every being has a different and unique way of loving.
Tales of Love and care have always been the center of literature penned down by great writers. Similarly, the romance genre is one of the beloved genres we humans admire, and there is no lack of films weaved with the yarns of fondness and warmth of relations.
Here are some chin-tickling and gut-wrenching movies about love on the platform Amazon Prime Video.
Notting Hill
Starring the most handsome Hugh Grant and the most beautiful Julia Roberts, this classic movie was released in 1999 with a run time of 2 hours and 4 minutes. The movie follows an actress with all the name and fame who falls for an ordinary bookshop guy and faces many status-related problems.
When Harry Met Sally
Released in 1989, this movie is a classic rom-com about two graduates who encountered each other once while in college and then met long after and started to form an irresistible bond with each other.
Sleepless in Seattle
This movie was released in 1993 with a run time of 1 hour 45 minutes and features Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The story behind this rom-com is supported by a child whose widowed father is not able to settle with the reality of the death of his wife and is forced to call a talk show in hopes of finding him a partner.
Red, White, & Royal Blue
Putting up a rom-com to the list to complete the unsaid rituals. The movie was released in 2023 with a run time of almost 2 hours and a pretty cast, including Taylor Zakhar Perez, Sara Shahi, and Nicholas Galitzine. The script of this movie is based on a novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston, which follows the story of an emerging love relationship between Alex Claremont-Diaz, the first son of the United States, and young Prince Henry.
A Cinderella Story
Released in 2004, this film features Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray and is actually a modern adaptation of the story of Cinderella but with a twist in the aspect of the prince’s perspective. A girl named Sam, with a torturing stepmother and stepsisters, meets an online pen pal named Nomad and decides to meet him.
In The Mood For Love
Released in 2000, this movie is 1 hour 38 minutes long. It features Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung. The movie’s plot is based on the story of two people surrounded by work who realize how their respective spouses are cheating on them and start to fall for each other.
While You Were Sleeping
A Sandra Bullock classic rom-com flick with the feature Bill Pullman was released in the year of 1995. The film’s story revolves around a lonely transit worker woman who pulls her crush from the train path, and when he slips into a coma, she starts falling for his brother.
The Wedding Planner
With the feature of Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, this film is 1 hour 44 minutes long and was released in the year of 2001. It is a story about the most perfect wedding planner in the town named Mary, who gets saved by a man and falls for him, later she finds out that he is the fiancé of one of her clients.
Clueless
Featuring the fab Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd, this movie was released in the year 1995 and is 1 hour 37 minutes long. The movie revolves around the story of a very famous and chic high school girl who helps a newly admitted girl become popular.
50 First Dates
With a run time of 1 hour 39 minutes, this movie features the amazing Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The plot of the movie revolves around a young man who falls for a girl with a fictitious memory impairment, ‘Goldfield’s syndrome,’ which is similar to a short-term memory loss condition.
The Notebook
Based on the novel with the same title by Nicholas Sparks, your heart will feel very heavy throughout the movie as it covers the tale of Duke, who reads the story of a couple to Ms. Hamilton, suffering from dementia, from his notebook.
Call Me By Your Name
Get ready to mesmerize your senses with the brilliant performances of the cast, including Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer as protagonists. It is about a boy named Elio who falls for Oliver, the assistant of his father.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I still refuse to believe that it was released in 2004, with an amazing cast including Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. The movie will make you go through phases and keep your mind involved in two states of time. It follows the story of a couple who met in a train and now get their memories of each other clinically erased.
Before Sunrise
This is one of my all-time go-to comfort movies, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. It is the first movie of the before trilogy movies, which was created with a gap of 9 years between them. The movie is less about the plot and a lot more about the vibes. If you believe in how a stranger can be a vital part of your life someday, this film is nothing but a cinematic present for you.
The Proposal
Not exactly an ‘enemy to lovers’ but slightly in the same category of rom-com with Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds as the lead roles. The film makes you slowly fall for both of them when they are actually busy falling for each other in a romantic, comical way without even realizing it in the movie.
