Cop in punjab arrested for molesting a widow, villagers catch him red-handed

In Bhatinda, Punjab, a policeman has been arrested for harassing and blackmailing a widow. The accused was posted as Assistant Sub-Inspector in the CIA Branch of Punjab Police.

He was blackmailing the woman for two lakh rupees. When the villagers came to know about this, they laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed. He was later handed over to the police.

According to India Today, the accused policeman is named Gurwinder Singh and has been dismissed from his job. It is being told that he also tried to commit suicide inside the jail, but he was saved.

Widow’s son arrested in a false case.

According to the police complaint, the accused wanted to sexually exploit the woman.

When the woman protested, she, along with her co-workers, raided her house on 6 May and allegedly arrested the woman’s 20-year-old son in a false drugs case.

It is being told that the woman’s son was Covid positive at the time and was living in isolation.

Asked for two lakh rupees for release

Without taking care of the health of the corona-infected youth, the accused policeman arrested him and took 60,000 rupees from the woman. After this, the accused demanded Rs 2 lakh from the woman to get her son released.

The woman gave him one lakh rupees with great difficulty, but he was not satisfied with this and demanded a physical relationship with the woman.

Villagers caught red-handed by laying nets.

Fed up with blackmailing, the widow narrated her agony to the villagers and planned to catch the policeman by laying a trap.

The villagers installed intelligence cameras everywhere in the woman’s house and asked her to call the accused home.

As soon as the policeman reached the woman’s house and took off her clothes, the villagers reached there and caught her. The villagers later handed over the accused policeman to SSP Bhatinda.

Accused of rape

The police have registered an FIR under section 376 against the accused, Gurwinder Singh, and arrested him to investigate the case further.
