Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal held a massive protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in Punjab today. Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, who was leading the protest, was taken into custody. Badal was protesting for the sacking of state health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu.

Sukhbir Badal arrested

Hundreds of Akali Dal and BSP workers gathered outside Captain Amarinder Singh’s farmhouse in Siswan, Mohali, raising slogans against the Congress government in the state. At the same time, Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has also been taken into custody during the protest.

Vaccine scam accused

During the demonstration, the corona protocol was flouted here. During the event, Akali workers also accused the government of the vaccine scam. It is worth noting that recently there were reports that instead of giving the vaccine to government hospitals in Punjab, more money is being given to private hospitals.

Alliances started forming a year ago.

There are assembly elections in Punjab next year in 2022. Recently, the long-time BJP ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has left the ‘Kamal’ and joined hands with the BSP. Keeping in mind the cultivation of Dalit votes, both parties have come together. According to reports, BSP can contest on about 20 seats.
