Search engine company Google’s video calling service Google Meet has introduced many new features, which will make the video calling and meeting experience fun. Google Meet includes tons of new video filters, effects, and augmented reality (AR) masks. Users will be able to use the new features for personal calling on iOS and Android platforms. Recently, the company had also given information related to changes in the interface of Google Meet to the users.

The company gave the information in the tweet.

In a tweet recently, Google informed about the new features given to the Google Meet app. The company said that users would see new effects when they tap on the sparkle icon at the bottom right of the screen during a video call. The carousel that opens up to users will include many different effects, from colour filters and some animated AR fake effects. With their help, video calling will become more fun than ever.

New options have been given to users for personal Gmail accounts, while it is more critical for workspace users to stay professional during meetings. This is why workspace users have been given limited options like blurring the background or applying a virtual background. The company provides many professional features to users associated with Google Workspace, who use paid services. Some of these features are given to users using a free account.

With the new video effects features, it has become clear that apart from targeting the enterprise and business users, Google Meet also brings features for the general users. The new features given by Google have come for the personal callers to also use the Google Meet service for their needs. The company released its Meet service for free for all users last year.

Recently changes have also been made in Google Meet’s hand-raising feature and Live Captions. Apart from this, with the introduction of the refreshed Google Meet user interface, teachers will be able to see their presentations and students simultaneously. Google has said that teachers will unpin their presentations or minimise self-feeds and see more students. The company’s effort is to show as many students as possible on the screen.

In the year 2020, the coronavirus affected the whole world, and people had to make a habit of working and studying from home. Many video calling services were heavily used, and Google Duo and Meet are also included in this. In the video calling app Google Duo, the company also gave features like a doodle on video calls and new AR filters. Similar features have now been made part of Google Meet.
