Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced his resignation from his post. Speaking in the Assembly on the occasion of completing two years of his government today, he said that he would meet the Governor after lunch.
Yediyurappa had made it clear yesterday that the decision of the BJP top leadership could come either today (Sunday) or tomorrow if he continues as the chief minister.
Who will be the next Chief Minister of the state? It has not been announced yet.

Speculation about Yediyurappa‘s resignation was going on for a long time
For the past several weeks, there has been speculation about Yediyurappa’s removal from the post of Chief Minister. Amidst these speculations, he came to Delhi this month and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
After this, the speculation about his resignation had intensified. Yediyurappa kept saying that the party has not asked him to resign and whatever decision the party president takes, he will accept.
