The number of active cases has increased for the fifth consecutive day to 4,10,952. Active cases have increased many times in the past, which is a matter of concern.
39,258 patients recovered on the last day
Talking about those recovering after defeating coronavirus infection, 39,258 patients were cured in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients who have recovered after defeating the epidemic has gone up to 3,08,20,521. The recovery rate of the country is 97.37 per cent.
Apart from this, 17,89,472 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the epidemic, about 46.82 crore coronavirus tests have been done in the country.
These are the most affected states
If we look at the most affected states, so far, 63,03,715 people have been found infected in Maharashtra, and 1,32,791 people have died. So far, 33,90,761 people have been infected, and 16,781 deaths have occurred in Kerala, the second most affected state.
Similarly, Karnataka, with 29,05,124 cases and 36,562 deaths and Tamil Nadu, with 25,59,597 cases and 34,076 deaths, are the next two worst-affected states.
How is the situation in the most affected states?
Talking about new cases, 6,959 people were infected in Maharashtra on the last day, while 225 patients died. The pace of infection seems to be under control in the state for a few months. Similarly, in Kerala, 20,624 people were infected, and 80 patients died, while in Karnataka, 1,987 cases were reported, and 37 deaths occurred. In Tamil Nadu, the infection was confirmed in 1,986 people, and 26 patients lost their lives.
What is the status of the vaccination campaign?
Talking about the world’s largest vaccination campaign going on in the country, 47,02,98,596 doses of vaccine have been administered so far. 60,15,842 doses were administered on the last day. The slow pace of vaccination remains a matter of concern.
19.77 million people infected worldwide
According to Johns Hopkins University, so far, around 19.77 million people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide, while 42.16 lakh people have died. In the most affected America, 35 million people have been infected, and 6.13 lakh people have died. India is the second most affected country after America. At the same time, out of 1.99 crores infected, 5.56 lakh patients have died in Brazil, the third most affected country.
