Union Health Minister appreciates steps taken to prevent epidemic in Kerala

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who arrived here with a central team to review the status of Covid-19 in Kerala, appreciated the steps taken by the Left Party government in the state to prevent Coronavirus infection. The Public Relations Department of the state government issued a statement After meeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Health Minister Veena George, Mandaviya said that the health care system here is excellent and assured availability of more vaccines for Kerala. The Union Health Minister appreciated the very low loss of vaccines in the state and said the state has set an example in administering the dose.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan also said Kerala is ahead of the national average in vaccination and the mortality rate is low here. Mandaviya and the central team have visited Kerala at a time when more than half of the newly infected people coming across the country are coming from Kerala.

Kerala on Sunday reported 18,582 new covid – 19 cases, more than half the total number across the country. A total of 32,937 new cases of infection were reported in the country on Sunday. The investigation infection rate in the state was 15.11 percent on Sunday.
