The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the schedule for the T20 World Cup to be held in October-November this year.
The Indian team will begin their campaign in the World Cup with a match against Pakistan on October 24.
India has been included in Group 2 with Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.
Round-1 matches to be played from October 17
The tournament will begin with a Group B of Round-1 between hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 17. Other Group-B teams Scotland and Bangladesh will clash in the evening match.
In Group A, Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Namibia will clash in Abu Dhabi the next day.
The round-1 matches will continue till October 22 and the top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 12 stage of the tournament starting October 23.
