Chhattisgarh: Naxals attack Narayanpur, two jawans including Assistant Commandant of ITBP martyred

In Chhattisgarh, a major Naxalite has ambushed security forces in the Narayanpur district. Two jawans including an Assistant Commandant of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were martyred.

After the attack, Naxalites looted one AK-47 rifle, two bulletproof jackets, and walkie talkie from the jawans and fled.

Another team of security forces who reached the spot rushed the bodies to a nearby camp and cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the Naxalites.

Naxalites attack during a search operation

Bastar Inspector General of Police (IG) Sundarraj P said that the jawans of the 45th battalion of ITBP had gone on a search operation in the morning following reports of Naxalites in the area.

In the afternoon, when a group of jawans was conducting a search near Becha village, 600 meters from the ITBP camp in Kadameta, they were attacked by the ambushed Naxalites.

Assistant Commandant Gurumukh Singh and his colleague Sudhakar Sinde were martyred.

Second contingent of security forces begins search for Naxalites

IG Sundarraj P said that after the attack, Naxalites looted an AK-47 rifle, two bulletproof jackets, and walkie-talkie of the jawans from the spot and fled.

The second team of security forces, who reached the spot, first seized the bodies of the two jawans and rushed them to a nearby base camp.

The team then cordoned off the entire area and launched a hunt for the Naxalites. He said the Naxalites will be nabbed soon.

Three Naxalites were nabbed by security forces four days ago

The security forces had launched a search operation in the area last Sunday also. Meanwhile, they had arrested three Naxalites from a forest near Aitepal village in Naxal affected Dantewada district.

The Naxalites are believed to have carried out the operation to avenge him.

Three Naxalites Hunga Kartam (25), Aita Madvi (25), and Pojja alias Lathi Kartam (28) were arrested by security forces from the Kuakonda police station area of Dantewada.
