The first look and trailer for Vikram’s highly anticipated film, Mahaan, have been released by director Karthik Subbaraj.
Interestingly, this will be the Tamil superstar’s 60th film, and it was originally dubbed Chiyaan 60.
According to Mahaan’s teaser, which was released on YouTube, the thriller drama would be interesting and will include mythical elements.
The teaser video in black and white opens with traditional drumming, which continues throughout the video.
Folk theatre artists are shown putting on makeup, followed by views of people dressed as mythological characters and performing.
Then Vikram appears on a bike, holding a prop with several hands and two horns behind his back. This first impression could point to his strong personality qualities.
The appearance of the 55-year-old actor in the teaser has piqued the interest of fans.
While many complimented his appearance as “amazing” and “terrific,” others praised the video and the filmmaker.
Santhosh Narayanan, the music composer, has also received a lot of love from netizens for the excellent background score, particularly the foot-tapping drum sounds.
The trailer, which was released on YouTube Friday evening, has received over 1.3 million views and 130K likes.
The Jagame Thandhiram director, presented by SS Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studios, has cast Dhruv Vikram, Bobby Simha, Simran, and Vani Bhojan in crucial roles.
This is Vikram’s first collaboration with his son Dhruv on a film.
The star youngster has already established a fan base thanks to his performance in his debut film, Adithya Varma (2019), for which he won multiple Best Debut Actor accolades.
Aside from Mahaan, Vikram is working on a number other major projects.
The first is Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Cobra (the final leg is being shot in Kolkata), and the second is Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayamram Ravi, and veteran actor Praksha Raj.
Meanwhile, Dhruv is working on projects with filmmakers Mari Selvaraj and Pa Ranjith.
