The new Saints Row revival was announced earlier today as an Epic Games Store exclusive, and to coincide with that, the recently released Saints Row: The Third Remastered is now available for free. The offer is valid until September 2, and if you take advantage of it now, it will remain in your library in perpetuity, or for as long as videogame digital shops exist.
While the series has always been crazy, Saints Row: The Third was the first to go strange, culminating in Saints Row 4’s ludicrous superhero theatrics. It’s a good open-world criminal game with a weapon that fires mind-control octopuses at your adversaries, which no other game has done to my knowledge.
Saints Row is the third game to be made available for free on the Epic Games Store this week, following Void Bastards and Yooka-Laylee, with Automachef to follow next week.
Morgan got a first look at the next Saints Row game, which will be available on the Epic Games Store on February 25th. “A new main cast and city certainly freshen things up a bit, but as a whole, Saints Row seems very similar to the games before it,” he commented. “Volition promises that the shooting is still arcady, driving is better than ever, and the weapon choice is vast.”
