Javed Akhtar caught in controversy by comparing RSS to Taliban; BJP demands apology

Famous writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar often remains in the headlines for his statements. He is always commenting on social issues.

Now he has given such a statement, due to which he is embroiled in controversies. Talking to the media recently, he has compared the Taliban with organizations like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Controversy has arisen regarding this.

Screening of films will be stopped for not apologizing: BJP leader Ram

After this episode, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Maharashtra MLA Ram Kadam, have opposed Javed.BJP leaders have demanded an apology from Javed for his statement. Leader Ram Kadam has said that screening of his films will be stopped till Javed apologizes for his statement comparing RSS and VHP to Taliban.

BJP MLA Ram categorically said that the screening of films of Javed and his family members will be stopped in India. This statement of Javed is being discussed a lot on social media.
The controversy deepened when he told NDTV, “This statement by Javed Akhtar is not just shameful, but painful and humiliating for crores of functionaries of the Sangh and the Vishva Hindu Parishad and crores of people across the world who follow their ideology,”

This statement became the cause of controversy

In his interview, writer Javed further said, “Of course, the Taliban is barbaric, and their actions are reprehensible, but those supporting the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal are all the same.”

This statement has caused controversy. Expressing their opinion on this statement, BJP leaders said that if RSS was like the Taliban, they would not have been allowed to make such statements.

Ram said this by releasing a video on social media

Ram has issued a video on social media warning, Javed. He said in this video, “We will not allow any of his films to run in this land of Ma Bharti till he apologises with folded hands to the functionaries of the Sangh who have dedicated their lives to the nation,”

The youth wing of the BJP has also taken out a protest march near Javed’s Juhu residence on Saturday.

Many interesting films are being made under the banner of Javed’s son Farhan Akhtar’s production company Excel Entertainment.

Farhan will also be responsible for producing ‘Phone Bhoot’, ‘Fukrey 3’ and ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’.On the birth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor, the first look of his last film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ was released. 

After the death of Rishi, Paresh Rawal is further completing his unfinished film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’.
