The MG Astor SUV, which debuted last month, will go on sale in India on October 7. The vehicle is equipped with up to 14 radar-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features.
Adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, intelligent headlamp control, speed assist system, and rear drive assist are among them.
The vehicle is outfitted with a trio of lane assist features
Astor provides three types of lane assist functions: Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Lane Departure Provision (LDP).
LKA assists the driver in staying in one lane while driving, LDW alerts the driver during lane changes, and LDP prevents the car from changing lanes by applying brakes.
They are triggered when the car hits 60km/h.
At 40km/h, Intelligent Headlamp Control is enabled
Intelligent Headlamp Control is another notable ADAS feature (IHC). When the SUV reaches a speed of 40km/h, this function is triggered. The fog lights are switched off, and the headlights are set to automatic.
The grille is plated in chrome, and the wheels are 17 inches in diameter
The MG Astor has a sculpted bonnet, a chrome studded grille with a 3D pattern, a blacked-out air vent, and slim LED headlights.
Roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, heated ORVMs, and 17-inch alloy wheels flank the SUV on the flanks.
The rear end has a shark fin antenna, wraparound taillamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a window wiper.
It comes with two engine options
The MG Astor is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 108.5hp/144Nm and a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine with 138hp/220Nm. The SUV’s transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a CVT gearbox.
The car has five seats and six airbags
The MG Astor has a 5-seater cockpit with a multifunctional steering wheel, a motorized driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof.
Six airbags, radar-based ADAS technologies, a 360-degree-view camera, and electronic stability control assure the safety of the passengers.
It also has a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and linked car technology compatibility.
Pricing and availability for MG Astor
The MG Astor SUV is estimated to cost approximately Rs. 10 lakh in India (ex-showroom). Unofficial bookings for the car are now available for a nominal fee of Rs. 50,000.
