The new update has been rolled out by the audio-based social media platform Clubhouse. Announcing local language support, the company has added 13 new languages to the app, including five Indian languages. Support for new languages will be given to Android users first and later to all users. Apart from this, the app has chosen Anirudh Deshmukh as the first Indian user as its icon.

These languages were made part of the clubhouse

In the press conference held on the platform, the company said that Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada have now been supported by Indian users. At the same time, other languages included with the localization feature are French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish. The company wrote in the blog, “It is really wonderful that people from so many countries have come together on this app, which only supports the English language.”

Audio social app Clubhouse has also updated its app icon and for the first time, an Indian face has become its icon. On updating the app, Anirudh Deshmukh, who lives in Mumbai, will be seen in its icon. Let us tell you, Clubhouse changes its icon with the new update and uses the image of the creators for this. Now the icon-created Deshmukh hosts the show in the app called ‘Late Night Jam’.

The company said that its users spend an average of 70 minutes a day using Clubhouse. However, the data is not shared according to different markets or countries. App founder Paul Davison has said that the company will not only include new features to protect users but is also working on improving the existing algorithms. Co-founder Rohan Seth touts the Universal Search feature with the promise of better content.

The social networking app is also going to give users the option to share external links soon. With the new feature, moderators in an audio room will be able to pin a link to an external website or page to the top of their room. With the help of these links, moderators will be able to send speakers and listeners who are part of the room on their website or platform. However, there will be no option to share some links in the room regarding security-related matters.

It has been revealed that several monetization features will be rolled out on the app in the coming months . Users will get information related to these along with app updates. These features may include a subscription-based model apart from directly monetizing the app. The clubhouse is soon going to give users the option of putting tickets in audio rooms. In this way, users will be able to promote their podcast, book or other work.
