Here is Ranveer Singh’s Twitter post
The 3 minutes 49-second trailer has thrilled the audience. Ranveer is so engrossed in the character of Kapil that it is difficult to recognize him.
He has tried to get into the skin of Kapil Dev perfectly, so much so that it for a moment one will fail to distinguish between whether it’s Singh or the legend himself. The story of India’s victory and struggle is told in the trailer and Singh has become its hero.
The trailer also gives glimpses of Deepika Padukone, who plays his on-screen wife.
Pankaj Tripathi’s dialogue catches attention
The trailer highlights the part that how India was not being considered as a strong contender for the World Cup which makes the players sad.
In this, Pankaj Tripathi is seen saying to Ranveer, “35 years ago we won freedom, but we have yet to win respect, captain.”
The film will also feature actors like Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Hardy Sandhu, and Amy Virk.
First impression of the trailer
Above all, Singh’s style and portrayal of Dev have won the hearts of the audience. Be it his style or looks, he fits the character to a T. All the other characters, too, resemble the players of the then Indian cricket team. This film can prove to be the big film of Singh’s fantastic career.
