Shahid Kapoor’s film Jersey to release internationally on December 30

Shahid Kapoor is currently making headlines for his upcoming sports drama film ‘Jersey’. Recently the release date of this film was announced. And the fans are all excited to see the actor back with another hit film.

The film will release in Indian cinemas on December 31. Now the makers have declared the release date of the film for the international market as well.

Shahid’s ‘Jersey’ will hit audiences overseas on December 30, a day before it hits Indian theatres.

Fars Films and Yash Raj Films team up

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Shahid’s ‘Jersey’ is scheduled to release overseas on December 30. Yash Raj Films is ready to release this film in international markets.

The Middle East giant Fars Films has acquired the rights to market the film internationally.

The company has joined hands with Yash Raj Films for the release of ‘Jersey’ in the international markets.

Shahid to play a cricketer in ‘Jersey’

Shahid will be seen playing a cricketer in this film. The film’s lead actor Shahid had announced the release date of the film on his official Instagram handle.

He wrote in his Instagram post, ‘The film ‘Jersey’ is releasing in theatres on December 31, 2021.’

Also, he shared a picture on his Instagram handle, in which he was seen holding a bat in the cricket field.

The shooting began last year

The story of a talented but unsuccessful cricketer will be shown on screen in this film.

This cricket-based film will show how a cricketer above 30 years of age inculcates the spirit of representing the Indian cricket team.

Shahid started shooting for the film early last year. The project of this film has also been interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Jersey’ is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film with the same name

This is the Hindi remake of the superhit Telugu film named ‘Jersey’ that was released in 2019. Gowtham Tinnuri is directing the film.

Mrunal Thakur will also be seen in the film. Along with Shahid, his father Pankaj Kapoor will also be seen in the film.

In the film, Shahid will play Arjun, who in his thirties decided to return to the field and play for India in order to fulfill his son’s wish.

A point to note is that this is not the first time that Shahid is doing a sports drama film. Earlier, he was seen in the cricket-based film ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’. The film was released in 2009, in which Shahid was seen opposite actress Rani Mukerji.
