Farhan Akhtar was in the news for a long time for the film ‘Pukar’, the film in which he was supposed to pair with actress Rakul Preet Singh.
The audience was also very excited about it because it was for the first time that Farhan and Rakul were going to be seen together onscreen. However, fans may now have to face disappointments since fresh reports suggest that the film has been postponed indefinitely.
According to a recent report in Peepingmoon, Ashutosh Gowariker was to write the story of’Pukar’ in collaboration with Farhan’s father and screenplay writer Javed Akhtar.
The source told the portal that the makers did not want them to make a film with a half-baked story.
It was being said that the shooting of the film would start from this year. Farhan and Rakul were very happy to be associated with it, but now the work on this film has been stopped.
Javed had not written any film for a long time and because of this he was excited to be a part of ‘Pukar’.
However, when both of them started writing the story, they found something wrong. After trying for several weeks, and making constant changes when things still didn’t fall in place they stopped.
It’s a no-brainer that the audience was also excited about this film because through this Javed Akhtar was going to return to screenplay writing after 15 years. His last outing as a screenplay writer was in Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Don’. This film was released in 2006.
It was being told that the story of the film revolved around the forests of India, in which the audience was to be told about the importance of forests.
Farhan was supposed to play a forest officer in the film and was eager to play such a character for the first time in his career.
South’s actor Jagapathi Babu was about to make his Bollywood debut with this film. He was assigned the role of villain in it.
While ‘Pukar’ has been shelved, there are other things that are keeping Farhan on his toes. He is producing the film ‘Yudhra’, which will feature actress Malavika Mohanan along with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
He is also going to appear in a series of Marvel Studios. Apart from this, Farhan is directing the film ‘Jee Le Zara’.
On the other hand, Rakul will be seen in the film ‘Runway 34’ opposite Ajay Devgn. She will also be seen in ‘Thank God’ and ‘Attack’. ‘Mission Cinderella’, ‘Doctor G’ and ‘Indian 2’ are also associated with Rakul’s account.
