With COVID cases witnessing a spike all across the globe, a piece of bad news for Hugh Jackman’s fans as the actor has tested positive for the virus. On Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram and posted a video to inform all fans, friends, and family about him testing positive. The Wolverine actor told everyone that he has been facing mild symptoms and that he hopes to recover as soon as possible.
Previously, Jackman’s co-star, Sutton Foster had also tested positive and was replaced by an understudy in the show. Even though Foster had tested positive, both Jackman and she praised the understudies for keeping the show running.
To announce his illness, Jackman posted a 30-second video on Instagram. In the video, he can be seen wearing a black mask and advising everyone to stay safe and take preventive measures. He also added that “I just wanted you to know. I had a positive test for Covid. I’m having minor symptoms, and as soon as I’m cleared… I’m excited to return to The Winter Garden! My symptoms are similar to those of a cold.”
Jackman is also heard saying, “I have a scratchy throat and a runny nose, but I’m good,” adding that he wants to heal quickly and return to the Broadway stage.

Jackman will return to the stage on January 6, according to The Music Man
After testing positive, it’s obvious that Jackman has rescheduled all his programs. Since the show is now canceled all the tickets are going to be refunded or exchanged. He posted a story on Instagram talking people through the process of getting a refund. Meanwhile, The Music Man company tweeted and said that Jackman will be returning on the 6th of January. Hugh Jackman is currently starring as Professor Harold Hill in “The Music Man” at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway.
