It won’t be wrong to say that Vivah (2006) followed by Jab We Met (2007) will remain the two important films of Shahid Kapoor’s early career. Since then, or even much before, the actor has been a heartthrob, but a major blockbuster has eluded him for far too long. In 2019, Kapoor finally got his well-deserved super-successful film, Kabir Singh.
Not to mention, the film landed in several controversies, too. Some called Kabir Singh a toxic character, while others highlighted the fact how Preeti was shown a spineless woman. Whatever it is, it won’t be wrong to say, the film won several hearts, too, making Rs. 278.24 crore at the box office.
While the audience was still trying to get over the Kabir Singh hangover, Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film Jersey has got people excited.
The film was slated to release this Friday, December 31. However, keeping in mind the spike in COVID cases the film has been postponed. Shahid Kapoor gave the information on Twitter.

The censorship process was just completed on December 27. “The film has been passed with a clean U/A certificate,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
To put it another way, the CBFC (Central Board of Picture Certification) has not requested any changes to the film. The picture contains very little violence and intimate scenes, all of which are within legal bounds. The film has received certification as a family film. As a result, the film was made with that in mind, and the CBFC was aware of it,” the source added.
The overall running time
Jersey has a running time of roughly 175 minutes, or 2 hours and 55 minutes making it the longest film of his career. It’s interesting to note that it’s a remake of the same-titled Telugu film from 2019, which starred Nani and ran for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Shahid Kapoor’s recent flicks have all been long. Rangoon (2017) ran for 2 hours and 47 minutes, whereas Padmaavat (2018) and Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018) both ran for 2 hours and 43 minutes. Kabir Singh lasted 2 hours and 54 minutes.
Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in addition to Shahid Kapoor. The remake is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original.
