Vijay Galani, the producer of Ajnabee, Veer, and Achanak has passed away. On December 29, 2021, he died suddenly in London, according to reports. Sources revealed he visited London three months ago for the treatment of blood cancer, which he had been diagnosed with a few months prior to his trip.
Galani and his film expeditions
For the layman, Vijay Gilani is best known for producing some of Bollywood’s most popular films. This includes Salman Khan’s 1992 horror drama Suryavanshi, which also starred Amrita Singh and Sheeba, and Govinda, Manisha Koirala’s Achanak. That’s not everything. In 2001, he teamed with Akshay Kumar on the film Ajnabi, which also stars Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, and Bobby Deol. To be sure, Vijay Galani also bankrolled Veer, a 2010 film starring Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Jackie Shroff that also marked Zareen Khan’s major Bollywood debut.
His last production
The Power, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and starring Vidyut Kammwal, Shruti Haasan, and Zakir Hussain, is said to be his most recent project. Earlier this year, the action-thriller was released on the OTT platform. Vijay Galani leaves behind a wife, a son, and a daughter. According to sources, Galani’s son had just arrived in Mumbai and is now returning to London to be with his family in this dire scenario.
Anil Sharma, who collaborated with Galani as a director in Veer, confirmed his demise to the news portal. He claimed to have spoken with Vijay Galani two and a half months prior. “Vijay’s death is heartbreaking news. He was a wonderful man, and our relationship was always pleasant, “he added.
Pratik Galani, Vijay Galani’s son, had arrived from London a few days earlier, but he has gone again after learning of his father’s death.
Twitter mourns on his death
The Indian Film TV Producers Council, of which Vijay was the director, took to Twitter to mourn his death. “Deeply Heartbreaking and Saddening news of our beloved IFTPC director and Indian Film Producer Vijay Galani passing away…You always inspired and motivated us…Will dearly miss you ..RIP. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends,” it said on Twitter.
