Kylie Jenner has reached another milestone on social media. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians actress, who is expecting her second child any day now, is the first woman to reach 300 million Instagram followers.
Kylie, 24, has surpassed Ariana Grande, who was previously the most followed female on the site, to become the crown Princess of Instagram, with her staggering number of followers.
With over 388 million Instagram admirers, the social media savvy diva is still trailing her male counterpart, Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who is presently the most followed person on the entire platform.
With 72.8 million followers, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is the most popular Indian celebrity. Shraddha Kapoor, who has 68.6 million Instagram followers, and Neha Kakkar, who has 67.1 million, are among Chopra Jonas’ Instagram followers.
Kylie’s achievement comes at a time when she has been unusually silent on Instagram, laying low since her on-again, off-again boyfriend Travis Scott’s Astroworld tragedy in November.
Kylie and her pregnancy
The pregnant celebrity, who is usually active on Instagram, didn’t post anything until the end of 2021 when she shared a vintage flashback photo of mother Kris Jenner on Christmas Eve.
The celebrity, who is expecting her second child with Travis, spoke up about the “heartaches” she had in 2021 the following week.
“As 2022 approaches, I’ve been reminiscing on this previous year and the gifts that it provided, but also the many heartaches it contained,” Kylie captioned a black-and-white photo of herself holding her burgeoning belly.
“This year will be remembered for all of the big changes it brought about in my life. I hope that this new year brings you a lot of love and that you all stay safe and healthy at this time.”
Last week, Kylie published another pregnant photo with simply a typical text, with no mention of anything that had kept her so quiet online towards the end of last year.
Many fans pondered whether Kylie was “throwing them off” by showing off her burgeoning baby bulge on Instagram last week, implying she had already given birth.
“Show us the baby Kylie. I know you had it,” one commented under the star’s latest post.
“This is to throw us off !!!! She had the baby I know,” another added.
A third quipped: “Girl we know you had the baby, name reveal! I hope it’s salami.”
Kylie and Travis welcomed daughter Stormi Webster into the world on February 1, 2018, marking the first time for them as parents.
The on-again, off-again pair announced the reality TV star was expecting her second child in September 2021, after appearing to rekindle their romance under lockdown.
