Mitski – Laurel Hell
Mitski’s sixth studio album, Laurel Hell, is expected to launch on February 4, 2022. Mitski is known for her Japanese-American indie rock style of music. Patrick Hyland was once again in charge of the production of the album which has created hype already. The lead song Working for the Knife was released ahead of the album, while the release of the second track The Only Heartbreaker was confirmed on November 9, 2021.
Rosalía – Motomami
Rosalía’s third studio album, Motomami, is set to be released later this year. It will be produced by Columbia Records and is described as conceptual, experimental, and “her most intimate and honest album to date.” The title of the album is a non-accepted binomial, but Rosalía explained that she picked the title because the album “is constructed in binaries, two forms of opposing energy” and hence has two different emotions to portray.
Two Ribbons – Let’s Eat Grandma
The next album by Two Ribbons is set to depict a relationship between two people who are drifting apart. Although they are known for their synth-pop songs, the upcoming album, Let’s Eat Grandma will be a mellow and slow tune.
Father John Misty – Chloe and the Next 20th Century
Father John Misty has announced the availability of his fifth album, God’s Favorite Customer: Chlo and the Next 20th Century, on April 8 via Sub Pop and Bella Union. Funny Girl, the album’s lead song, is now available, along with a cinematic music video produced by Nicholas Ashe Bateman.
Charli XCX – Crash
The anticipated fifth studio album by English singer and songwriter Charli XCX, Crash, is slated to be released on March 18, 2022. It will be her final album under her current recording deal with Atlantic Records.
Big Thief – Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You
Big Thief has released the announcement of the latest 20-track double album called Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You via 4AD. The album is set to be released in February 2022. The album was originally mentioned in a brief interview, and the new track Time Escaping, serves as a taster for the forthcoming album. It comes after the band’s two 2019 albums, U.F.O.F. and Two Hands.
