Good news for period drama fans!

After a two-and-a-half-year wait, Gentleman Jack Season 2 is finally here! BBC’s Gentleman Jack is a period piece based on the real-life experiences of landowner and industrialist Anne Lister. The show, which was based on her diaries, which showed a lifetime of lesbian encounters, was a tremendous hit with both fans and critics. Sally Wainwright, the creator of Last Tango In Halifax, developed, wrote, and directed the series, which stars Suranne Jones as Anne Lister.

The BBC has teased the return of its blockbuster period- drama with a set of brand-new first-look photographs from the upcoming season.

Actress Suranne Jones will reprise her role as Anne Lister, with Sophie Rundle as Lister’s wife, Ann Walker.

Suranne had previously taken to Instagram to share a selfie of the duo as they celebrated the completion of filming for Series 2 of Gentleman Jack. She captioned the photo: “Over and out!”

Meanwhile, Sophie shared a series of adorable images with her co-star, praising Suranne. “And big love to my wife, our team captain [Surrane Jones] showed us all the way,” she wrote.

The cast also includes Gemma Jones (Aunt Anne Lister), Timothy West (Jeremy Lister), Jodhi May (Lady Vere Cameron), Katherine Kelly (Elizabeth Sutherland), Derek Riddell (Captain George Sutherland), Stephanie Cole (Aunt Ann Walker), and Peter Davison (William Priestley).

“I’ve been in a little bit of heaven once again spending so much time deep in Anne’s diaries as I’ve written the scripts, and can’t wait to see the fabulous, joyous magic and detail that Suranne and Sophie will bring to it all.” When asked about the upcoming season, Wainwright, the show’s creator, remarked in a press release.

Anne Liter and Anne Walker will move into Shibden together in season 2, according to Wainwright’s remarks. “and it’s about how they negotiate their married life, conspicuously in public, and how they deal with their detractors and the effect that has on their relationship as well… Obviously we’ve got season two, which is fantastic, and I hope it will continue on after that. There’s no end of stories, “she added.

Is there a trailer for Gentleman Jack Season 2?

Unfortunately, no. However, we may expect the show’s premiere date as well as a trailer to be released within the next month or two.

When is Gentleman Jack Season 2 coming out?

The BBC confirmed season two in May 2019, following the first season’s launch in the UK to 5.1 million viewers. There is no set release date, but if BBC One follows the previous season’s lead, the second season will most likely be broadcast in the summer. The first season of Gentleman Jack is officially available on HBO and BBC iPlayer. You can also watch them on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and other players.
