The above quote may give you hints about a story full of mystery. What if mystery adds up with some murder again? Again? Yes, you are right. The mystery film is coming back with more mystery. But is the second sequel coming with the same name? As everyone is referring to Knives Out 2 as the first part was named Knives Out.
In an interview with Digital Spy last year, Rian Johnson (the director of the film) said about the upcoming film and it is assumed it will have some other title, “It’s been such a mind****, because I sat on the idea for the first one for 10 years, and with this one, I’m starting with a blank page. It’s not really a ‘Knives Out’ sequel. I need to come up with a title for it so I can stop calling it ‘The Knives Out Sequel’ because it’s just Daniel Craig as the same detective with a totally new cast.”
So what will be the upcoming title of the film? A Benoit Blanc Mystery or A Knives Out Mystery we can presumably expect any title.

Knives Out 2 Release Date
Craig revealed about the release to Javier Bardem in January 2022 and fans can expect the sequel to release in Fall. “We did the second one in the summer. We shot in Greece and then we filmed studio work in Serbia. It’s finished, it’s in the can,” the star revealed during an episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors. Also added about the editing of the film he further said, “Rian’s editing now and it’ll be out Autumn of this year. It’s done, amazing really.”
Knives Out 2 Cast
The casting of the upcoming cast will include the lead Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc. The other members will include Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, and Ethan Hawke.
Dave Bautista has recently joined the franchise and expressed himself to Usmagazine about the same It feels terrifying. I’m nervous about it. I’m really nervous,” Bautista told Slash Film before filming began in May 2021. “It’s one of those things where now the pressure’s on because people are expecting things from you. I want to deliver. I take pride in that. I’m a game player. I want to throw a touchdown pass.”
He further added about the script and the production.
“I know the script is brilliant, I know the director is brilliant. The names are going to get bigger and better, and for me, I can’t get it out of my head that — there’s always going to be a part of me that feels like I’m new to this and I’m still learning, and I want to be able to hold my own. So there is a bit of an intimidation factor because all these actors and directors are just accomplished and seasoned and award-winners.”

The writer and the director confirmed that the filming wrapped on September 13, 2021. He confirmed on Twitter about the same, “We just wrapped production on the next Benoit Blanc mystery, and also I finally watched Annette and it’s amazing. Craig assured that the upcoming sequel is not just a remake of the original but is added with something all its own “Dare I say it’s better?” He added more by saying the film will be different, “We’ll see. I don’t want to tempt fate. It’s different, and that’s the amazing thing.” He further continued, “It’s still a Benoit Blanc mystery, but it’s very different. I’m very excited about it.”- Craig spoke with Empire in October 2021.
As such no official synopsis and spoilers are released by the production. The film is expected to be different.
