Streaming services have changed the way we watch movies and television, and Netflix is the best choice for streaming entertainment, period.
As Netflix announced its movie slate for 2022, it has once again proven why it holds the title of best streaming service.
On Thursday, Netflix revealed a list of major original films that will be available on the platform in 2022.
The trailer provided the first look at the films that are set to be released this year, including Ryan Gosling’s The Gray Man, Daniel Craig and Chris Evans’ Knives Out 2, Ryan Reynolds’ The Adam Project, and many other projects starring big names like Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Henry Cavill, Adam Sandler, Mila Kunis, and others.
The streaming giant shared the video on their social media handles, alongside the caption, which read, “New year. New movies. We invited a few friends to share first looks at some of our BIGGEST films coming to Netflix in 2022—and they didn’t disappoint!”

The massive unveiling has a stack of 86 films in total, which is 16 more than last year’s 70 titles. According to Netflix’s schedule, there are almost two movies per week, including 61 English language narrative films, 20 non-English titles, and five animated features. Following the success of its Korean series Squid Game, which garnered 1.65 billion hours of viewing in its first 28 days, Netflix’s movie lineup now includes six Korean titles, Love and Leashes, 20th Century Girl, Carter, Jung_E, Seoul Vibe, and Yaksha: Ruthless Operations.
A few cameos from our favourite movie stars are also featured in the video. “Every night is movie night, “says Charlize Theron. The highlights of the reveal include Jennifer Lopez’s documentary centring on her life in 2019 when she turned 50 and was preparing to headline along with Shakira, Jason Momoa’s fantasy movie Slumberland, Charlize Theron starring The School for Good and Evil, and more.
