Are you ready for some action and thriller? The upcoming Netflix movie mania of 2022 includes its biggest ever movie in the store. The upcoming spy thriller reunites Avengers duo Anthony and Joe Russo along with Chris Evans. The film will also star actors from your favorite releases Bridgerton, James Bond, and more.
The film budget is reported around $200 million. The film is based on a novel by Mark Greaney of the same name and is hoped as a great start for Russos.

The Gray Man release date
There is no confirmed released date for The Gray Man as of now but the film is all set to release on Netflix some time this summer of 2022.
As per Digital Spy, Director Joe Russo said that the film is slated to release this summer, “We’re working on The Gray Man right now with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, slated for release this [coming] summer. We’re hard at work at editorial on that. I think we’ll probably lock a picture on that sometime in February. We’ve got some big VFX to work on in it. So scoring, VFX all takes place until we release it.”

The shooting of the film, reportedly, took place in March and ended in July 2021. The shooting took place in Prague, Czech Republic, and in France at the Château de Chantilly, a lavish 19th-century castle near Paris.
The Gray Man cast
The cast of the upcoming film includes Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. Gosling will be seen playing as a freelance assassin and also CIA operative court Gentry called Gray Man. Evans will be seen playing Lloyd Hansen who is a former cohort of Gentry’s at the CIA who is sent to hunt down the Gray Man and will take the role of villain.
“He’s a really unique character, and this is Evans as a villain so it’s a really interesting character and I think he’s going to get to flex quite a bit in this role,” the Russo brothers said. Regé-Jean Page will also be a part of the film and expressed his point on work on the movie, “The freakiest thing about working on a Russo set is that the standards are so insanely high for everyone in every department that they don’t police you through stuff. They’re like, ‘Here’s this insanely difficult thing; do it.’ And then they just expect you to be able to do it because they don’t hire folks who can’t.”

The Gray Man story
Not much is reveled about the film, the book is based on Gentry who is on a mission across Europe to rescue Sir Donald Fitzroy who is his handler who wants Gentry killed to set a billion dollar deal for oil interests in Nigeria.
Joe Russo explained about the upcoming film, “What we’re doing on Gray Man that’s different [is]… we’re not gonna answer every question in the first movie,” as per Digital Spy.
Russo added further, “This is being conceived as a series of films, and again, potentially branching out, we could follow other characters, but we’re not gonna answer every question in the movie. So you’re gonna finish the movie [and] have a complete story, but you’re still gonna have questions about the wider universe and I think that’s one way to break the model a little bit, is to not give the audience everything in one film. Don’t have a close-ended narrative. Have an open-ended narrative that’s [like] a chapter in a book.” Russo also further said, about the further sequels of the film as it consists of 10 books, “Of course, it’ll depend on if The Gray Man is enough of a hit for Netflix to justify future movies and if it is, it doesn’t mean that the Russos will do every movie as they added they’d “love to bring new voices in”.
No official synopsis is released by Netflix as of now.
