Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed Reacher for season 2. The Amazon Video series is based on Lee Child’s iconic fictional character, Jack Reacher, from Killing Floor. Two of Lee Child’s books in the Jack Reacher series have already been turned into films, with Tom Cruise starring in Jack Reacher (2012) and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016). The Amazon Prime Video series, on the other hand, is apparently more loyal to the books and the characterization of Jack Reacher. When Cruise’s movies initially came out, bookworms were the first to point out the physical features that were missing in the casting; obviously, the character of Jack Reacher is large, massive, and huge, as noted several times in the book. Hence, Cruise’s 5’7 Reacher did not please the book’s ardent followers. Alan Ritchson, being 6’5 tall and weighing 250-pounds, is a tremendous success with fans of the Reacher novels.

Reacher Season 2 Release date: When is Reacher Season 2 coming out?
The good news is that there will be a second season of Amazon Studios’ Reacher, which was officially revealed on February 8, 2022, following the premiere of Season 1 on February 4. The bad news is that we don’t yet have a specific release date, but given the show’s massive success, we can anticipate it soon!

Reacher Season 2 Plot
The eight-episode first season of Reacher is based on Lee Child’s first book, Killing Floor, originally published in 1997. The first season revolved around Jack’s quest to find the killer of his brother, Joe Reacher, and prove his innocence for a crime he could not possibly have committed. And by the end of Season 1, the case is almost wrapped up and the mystery is solved. So, Reacher Season 2 will possibly be based on Lee Child’s second book, Die Trying.
The author released the following statement following Reacher’s official renewal with Amazon:
“Partnering with Amazon Studios for season one of Reacher was a total delight – they had our backs every step of the way, and it really shows, in every line and every frame. So I’m thrilled we’ll be working together again, for season two. This is very exciting news, and I can’t wait to get started. Reacher couldn’t be in better hands.”
Who will be in the cast of Reacher Season 2?
The first season of Reacher featured a large cast, including Titans actor Ritchson as the titular character, Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Finley, Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe Conklin, Kristin Kreuk as Charlie, and Harvey Guillén as Jasper.
Given the first season’s ending and how Season 2 will be adapted from an entirely different book, the only cast member who has been confirmed to return is Jack Reacher himself.
