Beauty and the Beast prequel series which will stream on Disney+ has stopped moving forward for the period. As per reports, the halt came due to creative reasons as the scripts and the original music were not altogether moving in direction or the series is running behind the schedule. The shoot for the series was all set to start in early spring but shifted to summer. Also, pushing the filming further in the fall season was not an option because of weather concerns.
Gad who wrote the story also tweeted about how sad is that the shooting has stopped, “Sadly, ‘Tis true. We tried to make it all work but under the gun it wasn’t meant to be… for now. These characters and this story will live on, but sometimes the best intentions & reality collide & nothing can be done.”
Luke Evans also added, “This is a very sad message for us to tweet. We are devastated. Goodbye, for now, from Gaston and LeFou.”

Beauty and the Beast Prequel Series Plot
Deadline reported the actual plot which says, “The series will follow Gaston (Evans) and LeFou (Gad) as they set off with LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly (Middleton), after a surprising revelation from her past comes to light, sending the unlikely trio off on an unexpected journey filled with romance, comedy, and adventure.” It feels that the characters will have some chance to get out of their old regional town and see what else is around there in the grand, Disney-fied world.
This is the second incarnation of the project which is in the works under Disney for a couple of years. Disney also planned to further work on the series and yet made it. Due to the halt, no trailer is released yet and no release date for the series is yet confirmed.
