The story of the television series was about an astronaut Tony Nelson who finds out about a beautiful 2000-year-old blonde genie in a bottle after light on the desert beach that was next to the ocean. A 2000-year-old genie? Yes. Jeannie is innocent and full with manners as she dedicated herself to her new master. The only person who is aware of Genie Nelson is Roger Healey who is Tony’s best friend astronaut. When Tony opened up the bottle by rubbing it, he saw a genie who was Jeannie, the spirit who helped him get back to his home.

He sets her free but she decided to go to Florida with him. Jeannie is determined to be a part of Tony’s life, she inserts herself into his life as soon as she reached Florida. Just like a genie, she started granting his wishes and whims. But her attempts to help end up causing Tony a lot of trouble.

Back in 2021, Barbara Eden who portrayed Jeannie in I Dream of Jeannie opened up about her journey in the show to PEOPLE. She talked about her learning experiences and what all challenges she faced. “Sometimes one is forced to slow down, but I’ll do what I do until I can’t,” she said.

The actress’s career began with The Johnny Carson Show. The actress expressed about her iconic character Jeannie and said, “She’s easy to live with.” “She really is. I like her a lot. I think what makes me so happy is that so many people around the world like her. Not me. They like that character. And they like the show for what it is. It takes people out of themselves and into another world. and I appreciate that. I like it very much,” she added.
