When and why the show is getting removed?
The series came to Netflix after a licensing deal signed between Netflix and Disney. But recently Disney is taking back a bunch of titles from Netflix by either letting the license expire or buying back the given license. The list of titles being removed include Punisher, Daredevil, Pose and American Horror Story. As a result of license expiration, the removal notices for above said series shows March 1, 2022.
What about American Crime Story 3?
The deliberate license expiration gives hint that Netflix won’t be getting any viewing rights for American Crime Story Season 3, subtitled, Impeachment. As new seasons are made available for viewing around an year after premiering, it was expected for Impeachment to release on Netflix somewhere between June and September in 2022. However, taking into account the title withdrawal by Disney, It is highly unlikely for Impeachment to be on the streaming platform anymore.
Where to stream American Crime Story now?
The removed series are most likely to head to Hulu and Disney+ in countries where Hulu doesn’t operate. As the series is aimed at adults, it’ll be listed among the Disney+ Star offerings alongside the likes of American Horror Story.
The removal of Crime Story can be guessed as a shocker to Netflix as it is basically reliant on its Originals in its library and removal of its original shows will somehow affect the overall viewing. With Disney removing multiple shows at one time from the streaming platform like this, one can expect more actions like this in future.
