After desperately waiting for more than a year, Season 3 of the crime drama The Bay premiered on ITV on January 12, 2022. Following the conclusion of season three on Wednesday, February 16, ITV announced the drama has been renewed for a fourth season. The first two seasons have attracted more than 7 million viewers since they were aired.
Produced by Tall Story Pictures and distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment, the show is set in the town of Morecambe. The first two seasons were centred around a detective sergeant and family liaison officer, Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie). In the latest season 3, Christie, who plays DS Lisa Armstrong, was replaced by a new character, Morecambe CID’s family liaison officer.

When will The Bay Season 4 release?
ITV hasn’t announced a particular release date yet. The filming is expected to start later this year. Given the previous seasons’ one-year break pattern, The Bay Season 4 is expected to premiere early next year.
The Bay Season 4 cast: Who is in it?
The big news for season 3 was the replacement of DC. Lisa Armstrong with a new character, DC Jenn Townsend. Townsend, played by Marsha Thomason (Cobra, Lost), took the lead in season 3 alongside the returning DS Karen Hobson (Erin Shanagher).
The other cast members include Daniel Ryan as DI Tony Manning, Erin Shanagher as DS Karen Hobson, and Thomas Law as DC Eddie Martin, Andrew Dowbiggin as DS Jamie ‘Clarkie’ Clarke, Rina Mahoney as Mariam Rahman, Michael Karim as Adnan Rahman Gary Lewis as Vinnie Morrison, Deepica Stephen as Shirin Persaud, Vincent Regan as Ray, Nadeem Islam as Jamal Rahman, and Ash Tandon as Kareem Riaz.
We can expect the return of Marsha Thomason as DS Jenn Townsend. Other The Bay cast members likely to return are Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher, Thomas Law and Andrew Dowbiggin.
The Bay Season 4 Plot Predictions: What will it be about?
The third season of The Bay featured an entirely new mystery to solve for DS Jenn Townsend, which was the murder of boxer Saif Rahman. Saif, a teen boxer, washed up dead in the ocean. Several others, including Saif’s aunt and uncle, became suspects. They were both participating in a match-fixing scam, as was local gym owner Vinnie.
In the final episode of the series, Jenn was finally able to solve the crime by discovering who was the killer of Saif Rahman while juggling his personal life along with the investigation. In light of the show’s finale, with pretty much closure on the murder mystery, we can expect a new puzzle to be revealed and a new murder for DC Jenn Townsend to solve.
Where can you watch The Bay Season 4?
Season 3 used to air on ITV on Wednesdays from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. While episodes air on a weekly basis, ITV released all six episodes to the ITV Hub following the Season 3 premiere.
