Nope: Release date, cast, trailer and everything we know so far

Nope

Academy Award Winner Jordan Peele has officially announced his upcoming project, Nope. After the success of his breakout horror film Get Out and its equally nerve-wracking successor Us, fans have been looking forward to any of Peele’s upcoming projects. Even though he produced HBO’s Lovecraft Country and The Twilight Zone reboot and he co-wrote the Nia DaCosta feature film Candyman, it’s been a while since he did some direction. However, in 2021, Peele released a new poster of his upcoming thriller.

From the trailer, poster and confirmed cast to the release date, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming movie.

Nope Release Date: When will Nope release?

Peele announced that the film will come out in theatres on July 22, 2022. The date was revealed through an official poster which portrays a dark cloud roaming over a dark city as well as three of the great names who will be leading the cast. As per the poster, the film will directly hit the theatres instead of being available for streaming.

Nope Trailer: Has the trailer been released?

The trailer was released during Super Bowl 2022. The first teaser for Nope was released on February 8, 2022.

Nope Cast: Who is in the cast?

Three main cast members were released along with the poster. Jordan Peele will work again with Get Out’s lead actor Daniel Kaluuya. Recently, he played Black Panther Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah and received multiple awards including the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance. With Kaluuya, Academy Award nominee Steven Yeun, well known for Minari will also star in Nope. Keke Palmer will also be staring in the upcoming horror. Euphoria’s Barbara Ferrera, The OA alum Brandon Perea, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves actor Michael Wincott will have supporting roles in the film, as confirmed by Variety.

Nope Plot

Even after watching the trailer, the overall storyline is still difficult to grasp. Peele has tried to conceal every crucial little details as expected from him. What can be expected is that there would be lots of twists and turns just like the previous two movies of Peele. Still, after watching the trailer and knowing it belongs to the horror genre, what can be figured out is that there’s something symbolic with clouds in it. It can be something with aliens, or some supernatural entity, or humans itself, the possibilities are endless taking into account the work record of the director.

Is the movie getting filmed in IMAX?

As per the official poster, there would be some scenes that would be shot specifically with the IMAX cameras so the project can be expected to be massive and would create an even better experience for the viewers in the theatres.

This project is signed between Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Universal Studio Group so it might be a hint that it’s not the only project they will be working on and the viewers can expect more of Peele’s in the coming time.
