After years of anticipation and uncertainty, NBC’s Law & Order has officially returned! For years, Law & Order has captivated television audiences with its dramatic, thrilling murder stories and courtroom dramas that are “ripped from the headlines.”

Beginning with Law & Order in 1990 and continuing with its most popular spin-off, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU), each series followed a pattern that involved the investigation of a crime as well as the following prosecution of the defendant. To viewers’ disappointment, NBC cancelled the show in May 2010 amid a 20-season run. After last airing in 2010, Law & Order will return to your television screens this year with its 21st season.

Creator Dick Wolf spoke about the renewal in a statement via Variety, “There are very few things in life that are literally dreams come true. This is mine.” Wolf will continue to produce the series, with Rick Eid serving as showrunner and writer.
