The CW is a commercial broadcast television network which is a joint venture between the CBS Entertainment Group and the Warner Bros. Entertainment. The CW has made itself a reputation of a superhero show network due to its massive library of the genre. However, it houses a long list of categories, Sci-fi drama, vampires, werewolves, witches, romance, teen, coming of age, say it and you’ll get it.
So, here’s a list of five must-watch CW shows with no superheroes in it; expect magic, suspense and love though.
All American
All American is currently one of the most popular shows on The CW. The show follows Spencer James, star player of American football in Crenshaw. During one of his matches, he was picked by Billy Baker, the coach for Beverly Hills High American football team to play for him. As a result, he was transferred to Beverly High, a complete different world from South L.A. In a whole new world, he tries to fit in and even if he doesn’t like it, he got to make a place for himself.
Legacies
Legacies is a spin-off to The Vampire Diaries. TVD was able to get itself a massive fan base and led to the making of two spin-offs namely, The Originals and Legacies. The Original dealt with the Michaelson family, the original vampires. Then came the Legacies, which revolves around Klaus Michaelson and Hayley Marshall’s daughter, Hope, which was originally introduced in The Originals.
Two years after the events of The Originals, Hope reaches Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted in Mystic Falls. The school was the place for the supernatural kids who couldn’t fit in anywhere else and where they learn to accept and control their powers.
Riverdale
It is an American teen drama based on Archie Comic characters, and currently in its sixth season. Starring KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Cole Sprouse, the story revolves around a small town of Riverdale which is not as simple of a place as it seems. After a teenager was murdered within the town of Riverdale, this group of teenagers try to uncover the deep and dark secrets and evils lurking within this seemingly innocent town.
Charmed
Charmed is an American fantasy drama following three sisters, Mel, Maggie and Marisol, who discover they are the Charmed Ones, the most powerful trio of good witches destined to protect both innocent lives and the world from demons and other dark forces, after the death of their mother. Macy receives the power of telekinesis, middle sister Mel can freeze time, and Maggie, the youngest, can hear people’s thoughts. Then comes the Whitelighter, an advisor who protects and guides witches — Harry Greenwood, who revealed the family legacy to the sisters and advised them to accept it and move on the new path now open for the three of them.
Kung Fu
Starring Olivia Liang, Kheng Hua Tan, Tzi Ma, Shannon Dang and more, Kung Fu is an American Martial Arts aeries that follows Nicky, a Harvard dropout who went to a monastery in China and learnt Kung Fu under a shaolin master who got killed. Upon her return after three years, she uses her skills to tackle the increasing hold of crime and lawlessness on her hometown of San Francisco while looking for the killer of her master, who is now targeting her.
