Six years after the end of Inside Amy Schumer, the popular comedian returns to scripted television with Hulu’s Life & Beth.
Amy Schumer and Michael Cera are coming together for Hulu’s forthcoming series, they’re madly in love in a slightly twee way. Cera is even sporting a beard! It’s incredible!
Life & Beth is a coming-of-age movie, with a twist. It isn’t about young adults trying to figure out their lives but rather a woman in her early 40s trying to re-figure her life.
Here’s everything you need to know about the series.
Life & Beth Plot
Life & Beth is a delightful dual narrative that follows Beth as a teenager and as a nearly 40-year-old adult. Adult Beth is a wealthy wine distributor who is unhappy with her life, so she returns to her roots, examines her past, and attempts to figure out what she really wants. She encounters a farmer, played by Cera, along the road, who becomes her new love interest.
As reported on hulu PRESS:
Beth’s life would look pretty great on paper. Impressive to everyone she grew up with. She makes a good living as a wine distributor. She’s in a long term relationship with a successful guy and lives in Manhattan. When a sudden incident forces Beth to engage with her past her life changes forever. Through flashbacks to her teen self, Beth starts to learn how she became who she is and who she wants to become. We’ll go on her journey towards building a bigger, bolder and more authentic life. Learning to express herself and living in an intentional way. A trip down memory lane is a strong source of trauma, comedy and moving forward.
