Mnet announces Queendom 2 final lineup

Mnet has finally revealed the final lineup of Queendom 2!

On February 21, 2022, Mnet unveiled the official lineup of Queendom 2. The participants include Brave Girls, Cosmic Girls, Kep1er, LOONA, Hyolyn, and VIVIZ.

Queendom 2 is set to premiere its first episode on March 31, 2022, at 9:20 PM KST.

Mnet known for its innovative survival shows is back with its next significant project, Queendom 2. AOA, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE, as well as former 2NE1 member and soloist Park Bom, competed in the previous edition of Queendom in 2019 and battled it out for a win. MAMAMOO, a four-piece powerhouse, was crowned champion in the end.

Following that, boy idol versions of the show were launched, with Road to Kingdom in 2020 and Kingdom: Legendary War in 2021, both of which were hugely successful, with THE BOYZ and Stray Kids winning.

Brave Girls

Brave Girls is a four-membered South Korean girl group formed by producer Brave Brothers in 2011 and managed by Brave Entertainment. They debuted in April 2011 with the single album The Difference. The group has since released five mini-albums, including Back to da Future (2011), Re-Issue (2012), High Heels (2016), Rollin’ (2017), and Summer Queen (2021).

Brave Girls, originally began as a five-member group, has gone through several lineup changes and now consists of Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna, with no original members left. The group’s popularity skyrocketed after their song Rollin went viral and ended up bagging their first-ever music show win in 2021.

Cosmic Girls

WJSN also known as Cosmic Girls is a South Korean-Chinese girl group formed by Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment. The group debuted with twelve members – Seola, Xuanyi, Bona, Exy, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Meiqi, Yeoreum, and Dayoung, with the extended play, Would You Like? 

Yeonjung, the thirteenth member of WJSN, joined the group in July 2016.

Kep1er

Queendom 2 lineup

Kep1er is a South Korean girl group that was created as part of the Mnet reality survival show Girls Planet 999 in 2021. The group consists of Kim Chaehyun, Huening Bahiyyih, Choi Yujin, Kim Dayeon, Seo Youngeun, Kang Yeseo, Ezaki Hikaru, Sakamoto Mashiro, and Shen Xiaoting.

The group made its debut in January 2022 with the EP First Impact and lead single Wa Da Da.

LOONA

LOONA is a 12 membered girl group under Blockberry Creative. The group was first revealed to the public in October 2016 as part of a pre-debut initiative in which each of the 12 members was unveiled, one at a time, in the next 18 months by releasing a promotional track.  They made their debut as a full group with the EP [+ +] in 2018, which featured the lead single Favorite and the title track Hi High.

The members include Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, YeoJin, ViVi, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Cheorry, Yves, Chuu, Gowon, and Olivia Hye.

Hyolyn

Kim Hyo-jung, better known by her stage name Hyolyn, is a soloist under her own label, Bridʒ. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar. She made her debut as a singer as the leader and main vocalist of Sistar in 2011 under Starship Entertainment. She made her solo debut in November 2013 with the album Love & Hate

In September 2017, Hyolyn revealed her departure from Starship Entertainment via a handwritten letter uploaded on her Instagram. This resulted in the disbandment of Sistar. Soon after leaving her former agency, she founded her own music label, Bridʒ.

VIVIZ

VIVIZ is a trio under BPM Entertainment. They debuted in February 2022 with their EP Beam of Prism and title track Bop Bop! The trio consists of the former members of the girl group Gfriend.

VIVIZ is an abbreviation of “Vivid dayZ,” which refers to “clear, intense, and days,” which the agency defines as “the connotation of being artists who always boldly show their unique colors to the world.” Furthermore, it is pronounced “bi-bi-ji” in Korean, referring to the names of the three members of the group – Eunha (Jung Eun-bi), SinB (Hwang Eun-bi), and Umji.

In the midst of the soaring popularity of Brave Girls and the ever-present legacy of Hyolyn, newcomers VIVIZ and Kep1er join familiar names LOONA and WJSN.

Girls’ Generation leader, Taeyeon is set to be the MC for the show. Queendom 2 is offering a promising turn of events with such strong contenders and an even stronger show host.
