ITV has dropped the news of Grantchester’s renewal for seventh season and the date is not too far. Based on Grantchester’s mystery novels by James Runcie, the story will follow Detective Inspective Geordie Keating rack brains on multiple mysterious murder cases back in the year 1959. Along with a hectic work life, Inspector Geordie struggles with personal aspects of his life as hinted by Robson Green. He pointed towards something like ‘trouble in paradise’ situation where Geordie and Cathy’s relationship as a married couple has started falling apart.
The official synopsis that was released says, “With a new decade just around the corner, the question of what the future holds is on everyone’s minds, not least Will’s, but before the 50s roll over into the swinging sixties there are some crimes to solve and some life-changing decisions to be made that might change life in Grantchester forever.”

Revisiting the previous seasons
During the 1950s, Sidney Chambers and Wil Davenport form an unlikely alliance with Detective Inspector Geordie Keating to solve ‘seemingly-unsolvable’ crimes in the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester. The team differs very much on individual grounds as Keating opts for a methodical approach to the cases, whereas Chambers has more of intuitive techniques to bring out the necessary information from victims and perps alike.
