Netflix has a massive library in terms of anime and they have been working day in and out to expand it further. Another one on the list is the upcoming movie, Bubble.
Directed by Tetsurou Araki, Bubble is a Netflix Original and Netflix is the global distributor of the project, however, in Japan, Warner Bros. will be distributing it. It is written by Gen Urobuchi, and features character designs by Takeshi Obata.
Obata has designed characters for anime like Death Note and Bakuman which have created a massive stir in the viewership so it can be expected that he’ll be slaying in the upcoming project as well. The film can be expected to be a visual spectacle as it is being produced by Wit Studio, the same animation studio which has Attack On Titans to its name.
The spotlight came to the project when its first teaser surfaced two months ago.
Here’s all we need to know about Bubble.
The teaser clearly gave an idea of the standard it is going to set in terms of animation, smoothness and fluidity, the characters and the whole world the story is set in.
Bubble Release Date
The much-anticipated anime movie will hit Netflix on April 28, 2022, and will be available for streaming.
Bubble Trailer
Recently, Netflix took to YouTube to release the adventure-packed trailer of Bubble that is set in a utopian or maybe dystopian world full of possibilities and underlying threats.
Bubble Plot
The film is set in an alternate world where gravity-defying bubble started raining from the sky. Tokyo gets flooded and overrun by plants and got ‘reclaimed’ by nature. The city gets entirely cut off from the outside world. All that’s left are some groups of parkour players who compete against each other while defying the laws of physics and scaling the city’s skyline. The city became more like a wild play arena rather than an accommodation for the people.
Then comes Habiki, who’s a talented ace but rather reckless. During one of his parkour tricks, he slips from a rooftop and finds himself falling in the gravity bending sea the city is engulfed in. As he expected himself to kick the bucket soon, a mysterious girl named Uta comes to her rescue. The girl seemed to have some other worldly powers. Then comes the twist when both Habiki and Uta start listening to a sound that nobody else seems to hear.
Now, what’s there to see is how well the duo will work the mystery out and save everyone from the impending danger.
