EXO is considered the vocal powerhouse of the K-pop industry with three main vocalists – D.O., Chen, and Baekhyun. It is said that the group’s rappers and lead vocalists can easily take the position of the main vocalist in any other group. The group has worked with a few of the best producers in the industry including Kenzie, Dean, and LDN Noise. In 2013, EXO’s first album XOXO sold over 1 million copies, making them the first group to do so after twelve years. Exo’s sixth album, Don’t Mess Up My Tempo (2018), became their highest-charting album on the US Billboard 200, and their best-selling album in South Korea, selling over 1.9 million copies.

Exo has received numerous awards, including five consecutive Mnet Asian Music Awards – Album of the Year and two consecutive Melon Music Awards – Artist of the Year. They have performed over 100 concerts including four main tours and multiple joint tours. The members also take part in humanitarian initiatives like Smile For U, a long-running project between SM Entertainment and UNICEF that started in 2015.

EXO struggled a bit in 2014 when continuously 3 Chinese members, Kris, Tao, and Luhan left the group suddenly. During this time Suho gained respect as a great leader as the group was evidently going through an emotional phase but he stood strong as a shield for the group.

Suho was scouted on the streets of Seoul by an SM Entertainment scouting manager in 2006. Though to become a trainee he had to go through SM Entertainment Casting System.

Suho made his solo debut in March 2020 with the EP, Self-Portrait and lead single, Let’s Love. The album peaked at number 1 on the Gaon Album Chart and has sold over 290,338 copies in South Korea. He has also starred in various television dramas and movies including One Way Trip (2016), The Universe’s Star (2017), Rich Man (2018), Middle School Girl A (2018), and How Are U Bread (2020).

In May 2020, Suho enlisted for his mandatory military service as a public service officer and was discharged this year in February.
