Russian Doll Season 1 Recap

Russian Doll Season 1 follows Nadia who is stuck in a loop where she attends her 36th birthday party every time and dies by the end of the day. She wakes up the next day completely fine and repeats the whole routine.

Nadia was introduced as a carefree person to whom only she and her close ones matter. But, as she gets stuck in the cycle, she starts to grow a certain amount of appreciation and empathy for the world outside of hers.

Rather than just simply reliving the loop, again and again, Nadia decides to help people around her, and herself. She uses this loop as a gift to herself and tries to resolve her childhood traumas. She even helps Alan, the guy she randomly met in an elevator, who originally had harmed himself at the beginning of this loop because his girlfriend, Beatrice had cheated on him. Nadia helps him heal and move on from the relationship.
